J. Geils is so underrated as a guitar player! They were always on point, great live band!
Yeah yeah yeah everybody's underrated blah blah blah.
The fact that this band (along with many others) isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame shows what a sham it is.
It is certainly a joke
What??!! 😮 J Geils isn’t in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame??!! Shocking! So wrong!!
@@lisastgeorge1801 that's cuz these nobody's who run it don't have a clue about real classic rock
@@kevinoshea4134 Couldn’t agree with you more, brother!
One of the best live bands of all time!
Best party band of all time!
The best rocking band ever. Skip that Love Stinks era, give me the earlier years!
Exactly center fold not the same as the old j giels the best live band straight up good time
@@davidperry7271 Actually love stinks is a good record. It's freeze frame that I don't like. The two live records Full House and Blow Your Face Out are essential rock L.P.s and are classic balls out rock.
Just like the Blues Brothers' band, they had a sound powerful enough to turn goat piss into gasoline.
Definitely will be in the hall of fame one day ❤
Best live band ever I been following these dudes since 1973
My second concert was Geils in March 1980 - home in the Boston Garden. I remember nothing so it's good to see these recordings!!
Yea back wen it was th Boston Garden !! th best times !!
My second also in Maine
The harmonica n guitar are so in tune w each other. Jus loved their music
this video shows how hard they worked every time they took the stage. I went to two of their concerts in 1982 and man did we get our exercise. every second was memorable.
My 1st show I was 16 April Wine opened the show. In Cali. In 1978. Damn I miss these days.
The J. Girls band rocked Detroit for 4 nights in a row back in 1979(?). What great performances. You did not sit the whole show. Incredible Rockers!
The mighty J Geils Band!!!
saw them in 78 at a collage auditorium in Dallas, Eddy Money ,who had the hit, One ticket to paradise opened the show. Fantastic
The most "fun" live band I've ever witnessed. Just a vibe throughout the entire show.
Best live act!
Living in Massachusetts I had the absolute pleasure of probably seeing this band at least 10 times in their Prime. this is one of the greatest live acts ever in history of rock and roll. Ain't nothing but a house party!
Living in Detroit, I agree.
From MASS too !! Luv ths band !! they r great 4eva !!
Also from Ma, love J Geils
the good times r 4eva !!
@@El-cj3dd but now baby, the last time is todaaay!
Saw Geils for the first time at Boston Garden in 1981. I was 15. My brother took me. They opened with "Just Can't Stop Me" and they didn't stop for 3 hours. Best concert I have ever been to and second place isn't even close. Second place, BTW, was Aerosmith at the Orpheum, NYE 1983, maybe. They had just gotten back together and this was their first show back in Boston.
Saw them in 1974 cobo arena detroit mich.golden earing, mountain then j.geils band.rolled out the white carpet and came out and put on the most upbeat ,rock show I have river seen.true professionals and great rock and rollers
Big in Detroit, Michigan
best time at Cobo.........many band in the days......thats all gone
Still listening to Peter Wolf…still rocking. J. Geils band rocked. Got most of their albums
I saw him last weekend at the Cabot Theater in Beverly, MA. Amazing energy still. Danny Klein has a band called Danny Klein's Full House. They're playing at Bull Run in Shirley, MA on November 12. I'd go but I have tickets to see Nitty Gritty Dirt Band that night.
@@bobkeenan2907 thanks for the heads-ups…
@@mkr4922 ever been to Bull Run?
the J Geils Band.
nuff said.
J Geils guitar rhythm reminds me of Paul Kantner. His picking is awesome.
Ofcourse the vocalist is one of the best of all time 😊
Great band
Love the J Geils Band.. saw them a few times live.. the last time was Y2K night in Detroit.. they blew the roof off the joint
BEST PARTY BAND EVER.
ああ最高だ。ーーThe J. Geils Bandがいた時代に帰りたい。
This IS BY FAR THE BEST footage I have seen so far of my boys! The clear close ups of Steven are incredible. Thank you. Thank you!
Great song Great album period 👌 I got to see them at the Los Angeles Colusiem with George T. And the Rolling Stones I talked my way in with no money and no ticket not everything is a complete bummer for me 🎉
Just Awesome
I was 19, and we would go to Cobo and enjoy J. Giles....
Aint nothin but a downriver house party!
Effing love the guitar solo the last 1:26 MR J
body and mind control as one sanctuary yeah i know i am with you and sanctuary , .

When they try to put the knowlege , to bed. I can't sleep.

Sanctuary much!
My family had soo many parties
Listening 🎧 to jgeils
Of course when my parents went out dancing
Ha Ha Ha
Love skins had some good songs on it but you are right mark fanara
Looked up "live" in a dictionary. Just said "J.Geils Band"
I love Aerosmith - but J. Geils was way better - and I saw them both. Truly one of a kind!!
""askRon" why the music is so loud.
I used to go to every New England show from the late 70's into the 2000's And yes, I'll say it, they blew Aerosmith off the stage at Fenway Park in 2K10 even with a shortened set, and J. being propped up like Joe Biden by a young stud. No disrespect to Jay, RIP, or to Aerosmith who I saw around 15 times, but Geils was the best live band of the era!
Ask Ron about his cowboy hat.
I would enjoy it more if it didn't say Reelin in the years across the middle of the damn screen, WTF!
Do you have footage of J Geils on New Years Eve at The Leroy Theatre in 1978? Peter Wolf was serenading a young girl and then gave her a rose! That was me! I’d love to see a film clip or pic🥰‼️
Lucky lady!
They stole the show at day on the green. After a day of Nazareth, UFO and Thin Lizzy with Gary Moore
They came on and just put on a live show with no compare
Journey was the headliner and don't get me wrong. There's a time and place for Journey but not to headline this show. We left early because after J Geils blew the roof off. We wasn't feeling at all like hugging, touching or squeezing. Just saying. J Geils was one of the greatest love band's
Anyone could ever see. I mean they stole the show at candle stick from the Stones
George thorogood got us ready and Geils just did the rest
Mick and the boy's
Looked tired and Peter, magic and Mr Geils
Who is one of the most underrated guitarist's ever. Had that crowd rocking. I've seen Kids, Alice and all their theatrics are great but to feel the music. Raw and just straight in your face. Geils was one of the best love band's I have ever seen
Only one that holds a candle to them for me. Was Deep Purple at Cal Jam.
Seriously 🎯👊💯
Agree with you on the Stones show at Candlestick, I was there, but my favorite show was at a smaller venue called the Sacramento Memorial auditorium two years earlier and they blew the roof off of that sucker that night. Will never forget it…made me a lifetime fan😎
Who bought the cowboy hat, and who stole the headphones?
Can you feature Nazareth java blues
You could REMOVE the bull on the screen. You ruined the video. Go Figure.
1:18 true the tjme was right, but i saw the m. Twice,,, when your seat was f.c.f.s. fifteen bucks and they were still hungry... that was the seventies
Never paid 15 bucks for a concert until the 90s.70s was 6.50 with a good opening band
the wolf is like brown
Been to the R&R HOF, nothing special about real rock. Geils is a no brainer!
meaning the lord j we used i mean Jesus the truth of what is from the beginning
alcohol fermentation original spirit intoxication sanctuary yeah you know tod infinity chapter 8
Hall of shame every body that doesn't belong in there is in and every body that belongs in their isn't
Took until 2018 for The Cars and Dire Straits to get in. This year the Dave F'n Matthews Band gets inducted but the J. Geils Band has been nominated FIVE times (2005, 2006, 2011, 2017, 2018) and is still out in the cold. A pathetic joke.
Misdirection Subjugation.
"askRon" what he promised everyone?
